Minor in Entrepreneurship

Students interested in adding a Minor in Entrepreneurship should meet with the advisor in their major college to declare the minor and have it added to the degree plan. Students interested in obtaining a Minor concentration in Entrepreneurship must complete 18 hours with a “C-” or better from the following two categories:

Category One

Choose six hours from the following:

  • MGMT 113: An Introduction to Management
  • MGMT 202: Principles of Financial Accounting
  • STATS 145: Introduction to Statistics or STATS 345: Elements of Mathematical Statistics & Probability Theory
  • ECON 106* : Introductory Microeconomics

* ECON 106 is a prerequisite for several upper division Management courses

Please note: Students majoring in Economics will not be allowed to include economics courses in their Minor in Management.

Category Two

Students must complete the following six credit hours:

  • New Venture Strategies (MGMT 324)*
  • Managing and Operating Small, Growing Businesses (MGMT 495)*

* Prerequisite: ECON 106

Category Three

Choose six hours from the following:

  • Leadership Development (MGMT 362)
  • Professional Selling (MGMT 384)
  • International Entrepreneurship (MGMT 421)
  • Seminar in Entrepreneurial Financing (MGMT 496)
  • Special Topics in Entrepreneurship (MGMT 490)
